Mariam Meetra

Mariam Meetra, born in Baghlan, Afghanistan, in 1992, lives in Berlin. She currently works as a research assistant at the University of Leipzig and was literary curator for Deutsche Welle and the Beethovenfest in Bonn. The writer and women’s rights activist is a member of the Afghan PEN. Her first volume of poetry in Persian was published in 2013. “Ich habe den Zorn des Windes gesehen” (Wallstein 2023, translated by Ali Abdollahi, Susanne Baghestani, Sylvia Geist, and Kurt Scharf) is her first volume of poetry in German translation.
