Nele Wasmuth

Nele Wasmuth (born 1949 in Goslar) lives and works between Europe, Asia, and Africa. She has taught German language and literature in Italy and Indonesia and is also a poet. She has planned and led international projects on sustainable economies in Ethiopia, North Africa, and the Middle East, with a particular focus on Women’s Economic Empowerment. For many years, she practiced Javanese gamelan music as part of the ensemble at the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum in Cologne. Since 2005, she has followed the path of Erfahrbarer Atem (Perceptible Breath), with a focus on its connection to visual expression, speech, and writing. Since 2018, she has run projektraum fichtezwei – a space for art and breath – offering changing formats and collaborations. Starting in 2025, she is developing a similar space in Sicily.
