Yang Lian (杨炼)

Yang Lian (杨炼), born in Bern (Switzerland) in 1955, now lives in Berlin and London. He is regarded as one of the outstanding voices of contemporary Chinese poetry and was a central figure in so-called fog poetry. His breakthrough came with the long poem Nuorilang, which captivates with its intense language and its exploration of memory, myth and time. His poetry has been translated into over twenty languages and published internationally.
