HAUS FÜR POESIE

Abdalrahman Alqalaq, born in 1997 in Damascus, is a Palestinian poet, writer, and performance artist. In 2024, his first book in German, “Übergangsritus”, was published by Wallstein Verlag. It was included on the 2025 poetry recommendations list of the German Academy for Language and Literature. “How does it work: life in exile, as a refugee, as a Palestinian, without a place in the world? Abdalrahman Alqalaq’s poems tell these stories in many voices: sometimes tender, sometimes melancholic, sometimes bitter.
