Asadi Atefe

Atefe Asadi, born 1994 in Iran, is a writer and poet known for her role in Iran’s underground literary scene. Her three short story collections were banned by the Iranian Ministry of Culture, and her literary activities and participation in protests led to persecution and arrest. She later became an ICORN guest writer, received the Hannah Arendt Fellowship, and relocated to Germany, where she advocates for literature in exile through readings and projects such as Weiterschreiben Jetzt. Her work addresses women’s rights, exile, discrimination, and freedom, and her first book is currently being translated into German.
