Dilek Mayatürk
Dilek Mayatürk, born in Istanbul in 1986, has been living in Berlin since 2019 and is a Turkish-German poet. Her bilingual work has received numerous prestigious fellowships, including residencies at the Tarabya Cultural Academy and Villa Massimo (Casa Baldi). Her most recent poetry collections are “Brache” (Hanser Berlin 2020) and “Neden Olmasın” (Everest 2025). Her bilingual poetry collection “Wenn du lächelst, zerfällt ein roter Apfel in Scheiben” (Wunderhorn 2026) will be published in August. In her poetry, Mayatürk poses a question to herself and her readers: What are poems if not open-heart surgery?
