Elke Heinemann

Elke Heineman, born in Essen in 1961, lives as a poet, writer, and publicist in Berlin and Venice. Her work includes novels, monographs, radio plays, essays, short stories, and poetry, as well as reviews and columns. In 2025, her poetry collection, „gewölk gestein" (etcetera press berlin), was published, featuring poems in German and in Italian translation by Cristina Vezzaro. She has received numerous awards, most recently the German Federal Republic’s Venice Fellowship in 2022 as poet in residence and the Bad Godesberg Literature Prize in 2023.
