Farhad Showghi

Farhad Showghi, born in 1961 in Prague, spent his youth in what was then Czechoslovakia, as well as in Germany and Iran. In 1978, he returned to Germany to study medicine. His publications include „Ende des Stadtplans / Die große Entfernung“ (Urs Engeler Verlag, 2022), a new edition of his prose poems, and “Die nähere Umgebung“ (kookbooks, Berlin, 2026). For his literary work, he has received several awards, including the Norbert-Conrad-Kaser Poetry Prize (2006) and the Peter Huchel Prize (2018). Today, Farhad Showghi lives and works in Hamburg as a poet, translator, and psychiatrist.
