Hadia Armaghan

Hadia Armaghan, born in 1992 in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan, is a poet, human rights activist, co-founder of Khana Farhangi-e-Parto (Cultural Center for Women), and editor of the magazine “Alf Ta Ya” (“A to Z”). In 2020, she published her poetry collection “Goli dar Lajan” (“A Flower in the Mud”). In 2013, she received the Best Young Poet Award of northern Afghanistan for her poem “Farda ra Warsaw bezan” (“Turn the Page Tomorrow”). After fleeing Afghanistan, she settled in Germany, she has participated in international poetry festivals and is a member of both the Afghanistan PEN Center and the Writers’ Association of Balkh.
