Oksana Maksymchuk

Oksana Maksymchuk was born in 1982 in Lviv (Lemberg), Ukraine. The bilingual poet is the author of poetry collections in Ukrainian as well as co-editor of the anthology “Words for War: New Poems from Ukraine.” She received a translation fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and has been honored with numerous awards. In 2025, “Still City” (Diary of an Invasion) was nominated for the longlist of the Griffin Poetry Prize and the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry. Oksana Maksymchuk holds a PhD in ancient philosophy and in recent years has divided her time between her home in Lviv, Europe, and the United States.
