Roberto Amézquita

Roberto Amézquita, born in 1985 in Mexico City, is a poet whose work employs a distinctive use of enjambment which, together with traditional accentuation, attunes the reader to an ecstatic mode of listening—moving between sensory disarray and direct emotion. His most recent book, “Rosas” (Spain, 2026), explores the eternal theme of the flower in search of ancient yet renewed lyrical fragrances. “Ante un cadáver” (Bolivia, 2022) revisits the form of the traditional requiem to create a haunting elegy. He is also a translator of Paul Celan’s work and of poetry from German, Portuguese, and other languages; his translations have appeared in Círculo de Poesía.
