Seán Hewitt
Seán Hewitt, born in 1990, is a poet, memoirist, novelist and literary critic. His debut collection of poetry, “Tongues of Fire” (Jonathan Cape 2020), won The Laurel Prize in 2021, and was shortlisted for The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award. His second collection of poetry, “Rapture's Road” (Jonathan Cape 2024), was shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize. His memoir, “All Down Darkness Wide” (Jonathan Cape/Penguin Press 2022), was shortlisted for Biography of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards. In 2022, he won the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. His debut novel, “Open, Heaven” (Jonathan Cape 2025), is shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize. He is Assistant Professor in Literary Practice at Trinity College Dublin, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
