Svetlana Lavochkina

Svetlana Lavochkina is an author, essayist, and translator of Ukrainian and Russian poetry. Born and raised in eastern Ukraine, she now lives with her family in Leipzig, where she works as a teacher. Her texts have been published in numerous journals and anthologies in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2013, her novella “Dam Duchess” was awarded the Paris Literary Prize. In 2022, “Carbon” received second prize in the Lviv literary award “The Winged Lion” in its Ukrainian translation.
