Uljana Wolf

Uljana Wolf, born in 1979 in Berlin, is a poet, translator, and essayist. Her most recent publications include the poetry collection „muttertask“ (2023) and the essay collection „Etymologischer Gossip" (2021), for which she received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the category Non-Fiction/Essay. Both books were published by kookbooks. As a poetry translator, she has translated works by, among others, Christian Hawkey, Eugene Ostashevsky, Valzhyna Mort, as well as – together with Sool Park – Kim Hyesoon’s "Autobiography of Death" from the Korean (2025). Her own poems have been translated into more than twelve languages. Uljana Wolf is a member of the German Academy for Language and Literature and the Academy of Arts in Berlin. She regularly teaches on translation and poetry and has been directing the international literature festival Poetica in Cologne since 2025. She lives in Berlin.
