HAUS FÜR POESIE

Yang Lian, born in 1955 in Beijing, is a poet and writer currently based in Berlin. His work explores themes of self-observation, departure, and the nature of evil. His recent publications include “Erkundung des Bösen” (PalmArtPress, Berlin, 2023) and “Im Einklang mit dem Tod” (PalmArtPress, Berlin, 2025). In 2024, he was awarded the Zbigniew Herbert International Literary Award in Poland. His poetry collection “A Tower Built Downward”, published in English translation, received the English PEN Award in 2023. Recently, the website Yang Lian's Poetry Corner was published.
