Please note that most of our programs and events take place in German. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at mitmachen@haus-fuer-poesie.org

At Haus für Poesie, we teach poetry based on a competency model specially developed by us, certified through the Youth Cultural Competence Certificate of the BKJ, and delivered by poets with teaching experience. Our projects are funded by the Capital Cultural Fund, Berlin’s funding pillars 1, 2, and 3, the federal programs “Kultur macht stark!”, “Kultur öffnet Welten!”, and “Neustart Kultur”, as well as by Aktion Mensch, the Boedecker Circle Berlin, the Berlin Youth and Family Foundation, and other foundations. Several of our poetry projects have already received awards.

We teach interdisciplinary art, music, and poetry, using technology and recording studios just as naturally as workshops, studios, performance stages, and graffiti walls. We organize visits to poetry slams and hold competitions. We provide didactic guides for poems on lyrikline.org and offer teaching videos and e-learning materials. We also come directly to schools, hold readings, and answer any questions that arise when reading poetry. We simply love everything related to poetry!

Poetry educators are especially close to our hearts. Every year, we design several professional development courses for them—covering works by individual contemporary poets, poetry films, or even classics. Talk to us about what we can do with your classes and for you, or simply inquire about ongoing projects.
