Exchange of Fire by Rose Sutton

What does contact mean – and how do we create connection? Long-forgotten devices project the sorrow of an unrequited love onto the walls of the city. A close artistic friendship between poet and painter overflows in images and words.

The orange soup simmering on the stove, the laid Sunday table: memories of “nukum”– the word for grandmother in the Innu language – weave a bond between generations and cultures. And then, suddenly, we are children again, half asleep in the back seat, knowing every turn of the journey and wondering where life might one day take us.

Please note: The short film program also deals with topics such as violence, separation, loss and emotional stress. Some films contain explicit depictions and intense emotional scenes that can be disturbing.
